The challenge
Farm operations generate a large volume of operational data: planting records, harvest logs, equipment maintenance schedules, input purchases, staff activities, and yield reports. For the client, all of this was managed across physical records, spreadsheets, and memory. The result was that management decisions were made with delayed, incomplete, or inconsistent information.
The client needed a purpose-built system that could capture operational data at the point of activity, surface it in a usable format for farm management, and scale to cover multiple fields and growing seasons without requiring significant training investment.
The key constraint was usability in the field — the system had to work on mobile devices in areas with unreliable connectivity, and it had to be simple enough for operational staff to adopt without dedicated training sessions.
What we built
We designed and built FarmTrack as a web-based management platform optimized for field-level data capture and management-level reporting. The system covers the full operational cycle: activity logging, resource tracking, equipment management, and yield recording — with a reporting layer that gives management a consolidated view of operations across all fields.
